Fashion Shopping

Shopping for the right fashion items can be hard, especially if you do not have the most creative fashion bone. The thing to remember is that copying is the biggest complement, and if you want to look good, then take a look around. There are ideas at every turn, and for those that need a little nudge in the right fashion direction consider taking a look at a display, a magazine, or even television.

Finding the Right Stuff

Clothing does not have to be expensive or complicated. Instead consider buying discount and going to look at outlets. Often times outlet malls are chock full of clothing that simply last season, but still perfect for now. Call a friend and take a group to get opinions on how things look together. Make purchase quickly and easily by using a reach prepaid card.

The key to bargain hunting it to take time, and be creative. You will be shocked at how accessories can make a look. The right scarf, earings, or belt can be the difference between fashionista and fashion no-no. The next step in the process is thinking about the different ways to wear the items you purchase. For instance, scarfs make great belts.

Experiment

Experiment with the clothes that you buy along with the clothes that you already have. This will make an entirely new wardrobe of clothing that you will fall in love with. Another idea is to alter what you already have by dressing things up with color or accessories.

Celebrity Fashion

Celebrities always know how to make a splash regardless of whether it is good or bad. Take for instance some of the famous athletes, while they love what they wear, other may feel like they are trying a little too hard. The latest fashion trend is now to embrace curves and accept they way you were made. This is a drastic change from the 1990′s that believed everything had to be skinny skinny skinny.

Using Fashion for Fashion

Using fashion to be fashionable is nothing new. Think of it as a way to enhance your body with colors, accessories, and beautiful clothing. The best part is that it can be done on a dime. Looks like Jessica Simpson, Victoria Beckham, and Katie Holmes all know how to work the fashion scene, and there is no reason why you can’t copy their styles.

Use color, pretty shoes, hats, scarfs, and glitz to dress up any outfit, and look like a celebrity. Use your reach prepaid card to save money on your purchases, and find the right look for you. Add flair with your hair and before you know it, you are right in the mix of dressing in style.

Some of the latest trends are easy and fun to put together. Have fun with your look and get ready to be the envy of all of your friends and family. You will look like a movie star, and people will wonder how you did it. Remember, it is alright to copy looks that you like.

High Fashion on a Bargain Budget

Finding the latest fashions often means following celebrity trends. People everywhere copy the patterns, colors, and styles they wear. Unfortunately, the latest trends are often very expensive. Instead of running up debt on what amounts to some pretty accessories, the savvy shopper will build a budget and use a Reach Prepaid Card. Doing so can allow you to have the wardrobe you want without breaking your bank.

As a part of the budgeting process, take a look at bargain fashions. Often, it is possible to find pieces that closely resemble current celebrity trends for far less money. The Internet offers an excellent resource for those looking for a bargain on their fashion pieces. You may want to consider looking at resale sites, like eBay, as well. Remember to make your purchases using your preloaded Reach Prepaid Card to help make sure you stick to your budget.

Another way to incorporate celebrity trends into your wardrobe is to find pieces that are similar to the high-end fashions they wear. For example, many of today’s hottest celebrities are wearing maxi dresses for all occasions. While the dresses they wear are high couture, there are literally 1000′s of maxi dresses to choose from on the Internet. Take a look at the patterns or colors that are popular among celebrities and select a dress that closely resembles it.

Fashion is funny and fickle thing, constantly changing and often expensive. Finding creative ways to incorporate celebrity style into your wardrobe and using a Reach Prepaid Card can help you stay ahead of the trends.

Look Like a Star and Spend Like Your Mom

If you’re a fashion fan, then you know it can get really expensive when you try to dress like the latest celebrity trends. It’s possible to be just as eye-catching as your favorite star without going into debt.

Keep Up With Fashion While Protecting Your Credit Score

Shopping is one of the fastest ways to lose control of your finances. It’s so easy to go to your favorite store and get swept away by the colors, patterns and accessories that define the latest trends. However, you’ll save a lot of money if you keep in mind that celebrity impact is brief. What a star wears today will be out of style tomorrow, so look for bargain fashions that won’t feel like a waste of money in six months.

If you know that you’re the kind that will overspend on fashion, then get a reach prepaid card and use that when you shop. Don’t take cash or any other credit cards with you. Your limit will be what you set on the card, and when the money is gone, you’re finished shopping. Then you can reload the card when it’s financially convenient for you.

Keep Your Basic Style Classic and Update With Accessories

If you just love to buy high quality clothes, then make sure it’s the kind of products that will last season after season. For instance basic sweaters, blouses, and skirts can be quickly updated with the latest accessories. If you keep the colors neutral, then you can add bits of color and patterns via belts, scarves or even jewelery.

You can buy a lot of inexpensive accessories while looking and feeling like a million bucks. You keep your celebrity impact, but you’ll also keep your finances in good shape.

A More Youthful Image for Abboud

From direct tv to movies and even the streets, fashion exists. The men’s designer label Joseph Abboud was famous for its sophisticated attire in the 1980s and 1990s. However, the companies luck turned in the 2000s, hitting rock bottom when Mr. Abboud himself left the company in 2005. Twenty years of being known for the same type of clothing tends to give a company a certain inertia, which can lead to the type of fall that Abboud experienced. Perhaps to combat this inertia, Abboud promoted Bernard Rojo to creative director.

Whatever its reasoning, Rojo has brought some much needed change to Abboud by going for a more youthful, “hipper,” look. He has achieved this by making the trousers more fitted, the shoulders softer, and raising the armholes. Rojo claims that he knows what people want and the critics tend to agree. His new 2011 collection was well liked by the publications “Esquire” and “Details,” and several influential retail stores have increased their orders.

Interestingly, while Rojo goes for affordable luxury in the clothes that he designs, his personal wardrobe, and particularly his shoes, are another matter entirely. Rojo currently has around 35 pairs, most from name brand designers, and many costing around $1,000. However, Rojo claims that buying shoes is more a hobby of pleasure than one of use. There are shoes in his collection that he has not worn, and some, he claims, that he donates after wearing a couple of times.

However, loyal to his new brand, Rojo says that while he used to wear Prada to formal events he now wears Joseph Abboud.

The New Looks for Jeans

For all their versatility and functionality, jeans still manage to make their own fashion statements every year. This year, think loose fitting instead of skin-tight, because that’s what all the newest jeans styles are.

Loose-Fitting Jeans

The days of wearing jeans that look like they have been painted on are almost over. There are still some skin-tight jeans, especially the still-popular “jeggings” (a combination of jeans and leggings), but this spring and summer, women are literally allowed to steal their guys’ jeans.

In fact, some of the looser-fitting jeans styles are being called “boyfriend” jeans. That means larger in the waist, perhaps requiring a belt, and a little roomier in the hips and back. The legs themselves are looser, rather than looking as though they were molded to your real legs.

Pair these loose-fitting jeans with a button-down tailored or just slightly baggy shirt for a put-together look. Making sure the shirt fits right will help you keep from looking “sloppy.”

Wide Leg Jeans

You may think that wide leg jeans are the same as bell-bottoms, but they’re not. Think more in terms of boot-cut, with just a little more flaring for a flattering, more comfortable look and fit. Again, a well-fitting shirt will be perfect with these jeans.

Bell Bottoms

They’re back, but not in the overly wide style that was popular during the ‘60s and ‘70s. You know the style, the one where a small child could actually hide inside the legs of the jeans.

Today, the bell bottom still has the distinctive look, but it is still toned down to where it looks fashionable instead of funky. The length can still be a matter of preference, but don’t think this means you have to have them pooling over the tops of your shoes. There are actually some bell bottom jeans that are just above the ankles, while others stop right where the calf meets the foot.

Gap Comes to Europe

The speciality clothing retail company, Gap Inc, spread across the pond in October 2010 with the creation of its websites gap.eu and bananarepublic.eu. Gap, which includes Old Navy, Banana Republic, Athleta, and Piperlime brands, also opened a new flagship store in Milan in November 2010. This enormous store spans three floors and offers all of Gap’s styles, such as Gap Body, Baby Gap, and Maternity to name a few. However, this new flagship does not simply offer the same things that can be purchased anywhere. Gap also developed a relationship with the famous Italian design house Valentino. Valentino designed a seven-piece collection that will be sold exclusively in this new store (at least for its launch period).

As one might expect, where Gap goes the Banana Republic brand will soon follow. Indeed, a new Banana Republic store is already planned to open in Milan sometime in 2011. Gap Inc also plans to open another Gap brand store in Rome in 2011. Known for its affordable and versatile style, all of Gap Inc’s brands are expected to do very well in Italy, which is one of the world’s top five apparel markets.

In 2009 Gap’s sales reached $14.2 billion and, despite the recession, its 2010 report is expected to be even better. With over 3,000 stores in the United States, UK, Japan, Canada, China, France, and now Italy, Gap plans to continue its global expansion plan. It hopes to continue its expansion in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America.

At the end of the third quarter in 2010 Gap was available in 80 countries world wide and this global giant shows no signs of stopping. Clearly, Gap will continue expand into its role as one of the world’s premier retail clothing providers.

Another Masterful Lanvin Show

In a show in Paris, March 4 2011, the celebrated fashion label Lanvin displayed its superlative skill and range. A gigantic weeping willow, which eloquently represented the “roots of tradition,” set the stage as the show began with models in patent leather loafers, large brim hats, and sleek shoulderless dresses.

Known for his interesting print clothing, many were surprised that designer Alber Elbaz’s show was dominated by a solid, subdued color pallete. However, true to form, the show still exuded optimism and some interesting prints did eventually make the floor. Additional verve was added by the artistic drapery, which allowed Elbaz to incorporate texture into the show. Metalic accents, jewery, and zippers were also employed to in a similar manner, adding flash and catching the audiences eye when set against the basic color scheme.

After the firing of John Galliano at Dior, it seems that Elbaz has been tipped to fill the post. However, when he was asked directly about this possibility Elbaz evaded the question, merely acknowledging that his show did have a “humanist quality,” which he evidently thought would be valued at Dior.

Yet, the house that this show most resembled is not Dior but rather Yves Saint Laurent, which is also based in Paris. Yves Saint Laurent generally favors masculine sillouhettes, bold rose and red tones, and with leather accents. Therefore, while not a perfect fit for the show, there are certainly enough tempting similarities to prompt speculation about Elbaz’s target audience.

Ultimately, though a departure from his previous style, this show demonstrated that Alber Elbaz is still evolving as an artist  will continue to be a presence in the fashion world for a long time to come.

Sunglasses that never go out of style

Fashion trends keep changing and they can be difficult to keep up with sometimes. However, there are certain trends that remain constant and are known as classics as they never go out of style. There are also several styles that keep returning to popular fashion every few years. These fashion trends apply to sunglasses too. Sunglasses are an integral part of fashion for both men as well as women and selecting the right one can be tricky. Also, most branded sunglasses can be a little pricey so you can’t exactly have a collection of sunglasses until and unless you are really rich. However, there are some sunglasses that are timeless and can be worn with an assortment of trendy looks. Here are some sunglasses that you could make part of an anytime, anywhere collection!

1. Gradients: These are ‘shaded’ sunglasses where the lens’ color fades from dark at the top to light or colorless at the bottom. Gradients have been popular for quite some time now and don’t seem to be going out of style in the near future.

2. Thick Frame: The trend of thick rimmed sunglasses became most popular back in the 70s but has returned more recently. Thick rimmed glasses have mostly single colored lenses and don’t have a gradient. White frames are particularly popular among women. You should, however, be careful that a thick rim looks good on your face as they can often look too chunky.

3. Rimless glasses: Also known as Rimless Aviators, these sunglasses offer a more sleek look when compared to classic thick rimmed glasses. Available in single shade or gradient, these sunglasses are best suited for a sporty look.

4. Upsized Sunglasses: This style was popular during the 60s and has gained immense popularity in modern times too! Large sunglasses are mainly meant for women and look great on both sporty as well as elegant styles. They also offer better protection from the sun!
